Beethoven Trio in G major op.9 no.1
Bach Goldberg Variations (arr. Dimitry Sitkovetsky)
A trio of distinguished string players in an unusual programme in which one of Beethovern's early string trios is paired with a string arrangement of the 'Goldberg' that enables us to hear Bach's great set of variations in a new way.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute in Philadephia Matthew Truscott has performed as recitalist and concerto soloist throughout Europe, Australia, the USA, Japan and South Africa; Robin Ireland was viola player with the Lindsay Quartet for 20 years, has worked as guest principal viola with the CBSO, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the RLPO and Opera North and is Head of Chamber Music at the Birmingham Conservatoire; Richard Lester was a member of the Florestan Trio, for many years prinicipal with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and has been prinicipal cellist with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe since 1988.
